Week 1 Spotlight: Oprah, the new Biggie?

For years we’ve joked that Oprah is the most powerful woman alive. And once you get to a certain level of fame, inevitably, you’re bound to ruffle someone’s feathers. Well I guess if Oprah figured she’d have a feud with someone, she better not half-ass it because she’s now found herself square in the middle of a nasty war of words with some of the biggest names in the hip hop and rap communities.

“She’s had damn rapists, child molesters and lying authors on her show. And if I’m not a rags-to-riches story for her, who is?” said rapper Ice Cube after being snubbed by Oprah. If that’s not enough, count 50 Cent and Ludacris as other musicians who have spoken out against the longtime talk-show host.

Could this be the start of another rap war the likes of East Coast – West Coast? Will bullets fly outside of Harpo studios? It’s too early to tell, but on the inaugural Hobo Radio podcast, we take an in-depth look at Oprah’s hip hop beef and forecast what the future may hold.
