Week 3 Spotlight: Lobster tales.

Lobsters are an economically important type of seafood, the basis of a global industry that nets $1.8 billion in trade annually. And yet, Whole Foods Market has decided to end all lobster sales. Much like The Jeffersons, Whole Foods Market decided it was time for lobsters to finally get a piece of the pie. After attempting to improve a lobster’s living conditions, the franchise simply gave up and opted to stop selling live lobsters entirely.

Naturally, food expert Joel Murphy is seeing red over “Lobstergate,” and says the issue boils down to common sense. As a society it’s okay to pamper our pets - not our dinner. Well … except in Korea, where they eat cats and dogs.

Should lobsters be shown the same love and respect afforded to the common man? Or are they just scary looking critters that taste delicious with melted butter? The Murphy boys tackle some of these tough issues in another hard-hitting addition of Hobo Radio. Plus, they inadvertently stumble on to a brand new fashion trend – lobster furs.
