For all of you Hobo Radio fans out there (all seven of you), we did record a podcast tonight, but my computer crashed at the end of it and the audio file ended up getting corrupted. I’m doing my best to find a way to save the audio and hopefully I will be able to post the show in the near future. Hey everyone, this is Joel. First of all, I’d like to apologize for all of the static on my end on this week’s show. I think the problem lies with the program we’ve been using to record our Skype calls (we just can’t win with this whole Skype thing). We will be trying a new program next week and hopefully the show will be back to sounding normal.

On hiatus

I’m sure you have all been wondering what’s going on with the Hobo Radio podcast. I know it seems like we’ve “pulled a Bubby” and stopped doing the show altogether, but that isn’t the case.

Since I moved to Boston, we have been having some audio problems and the sound quality just hasn’t been up to our normal standards. So, for now, we are on hiatus while we try to work out the kinks, but hopefully we will be back on the air soon.

For the question of the week on episode 23, the Murphy brothers discuss OJ Simpson’s TV special that was set to air on Fox. However, it was announced yesterday that the special has been cancelled.

We are not sure why they weren’t aware of that fact. It’s as if they taped the show two days early or something.

Make sure to check out HoboTrashcan this week if you haven’t done so already. There is a recap and 30 photos from the Red Bull Flugtag event that was mentioned on the last podcast.

The highlight of the event was when one of the crafts, a giant Dumbo, got it’s ear caught on the edge of the ramp and hung above the water with a horrified look on it’s face. There are several great photos on the site and here is a video of the incident.

There won’t be a new Hobo Radio episode today. Brian and Joel Murphy’s grandfather passed away last Wednesday and they have been in North Carolina for the funeral.

A memorable farewell

French captain Zinedine Zidane made a heads up play when he lofted a shot to convert a penalty kick in the seventh minute. Zidane nearly scored again when he used his head to redirect the ball on net in the 104th minute. But he will forever be remembered for head-butting an Italian defender in the 110th minute of his farewell game. Without him, the French surrendered and the Azzurri celebrated their fourth World Cup championship.
