When Apple refused to place their game in its App Store, Owlchemy Labs were faced with a tough choice. Joel interviewed Debogorski on May 21, 2010, but the interview slipped through the cracks and never actually found its way onto the site … until now. Ever since Avatar debuted, overly-smug James Cameron has been able to go around with a giant chip on his shoulder talking about how great he is for “revolutionizing” 3D movies. The proof was in the box office, as Cameron’s film set records internationally for its huge opening weekend, proving that people wanted to see “quality” 3D films. The Bitter Hobo

For this recipe you’re gonna need (per drink):

• 1 lime or lemon
• 2 jiggers of good gin (don’t skimp)
• 2 dashes of bitters (orange or angostura – I prefer orange)
• 1/2 teaspoon of sugar

Take your old, rusty pocket knife and quarter the lime/lemon. Place two of the wedges in an old-fashioned glass and squeeze out the juices with a muddler. If you’re not fancy enough for a muddler, use the back of a spoon, or your hands, you dirty hobo. Pour in the jiggers of gin, the dashes of bitters, some cracked ice and the sugar. Stir it all about with your dirty spoon. Down the hatch, you bean-eating bastards!

This recipe will also work with bourbon if you want something a little more smooth and less, well, bitter. Then again, most any recipe will work well with bourbon. It’s the bitters that make the difference.

Martin Short, considered by some to be a comedic icon, has managed to have a long career in comedy without actually being funny.

But it’s not just Martin Short. Many well-known comedians haven’t let a lack of talent slow them down. Carlos Mencia and George Lopez both have lucrative careers because they appeal to the ever-growing Latino population. Dane Cook has had a great career stealing jokes from Louis CK and spastically telling them to frat boys. Chris Kattan parlayed an unfunny run on Saturday Night Live into several unfunny films.

Week 104 Spotlight: YEEAAAAH!

David Caruso has battled a lot of bad guys on CSI: Miami, but none of them are as evil as Jay Leno. Luckily, Caruso and Leno have been battling it out on Monday nights in the 10 p.m. time slot and Caruso has continually been the victor. However, CSI: Miami showed a rerun this week while Leno had original programming, giving the chin a chance to reign supreme.

This week Joel and Lars reveal who won that fight. They also find the time to talk about Halloween, Baltimore’s effort to be a real city and a new leather Batman outfit that will make the other members of your biker gang jealous.

Only Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle could have a talk about the evening news somehow devolve into a discussion of fake scientists, overpriced shooters and pepper spray.

Somehow, they also find the time to discuss two great evils this week – Jay Leno and George Lucas. Leno is continuing to run NBC into the ground with poor ratings in the 10 p.m. timeslot and an unconfirmed report claims that Lucas is considering going forward with three more Star Wars films. Neither story makes our co-hosts very happy.

Most kids secretly dream of being Batman, so its ironic that the man who played the Dark Knight for the past 18 years grew up having no clue who Batman was.

Still, it seems like a role Kevin Conroy was destined to play. Like Bruce Wayne, Conroy’s unique childhood left him feeling isolated from his peers until he found his true calling and got his life back on track.

For Conroy, that calling was acting. He graduated from Juilliard and pursued a career in theatre and television before landing the role of Batman on Batman: The Animated Series. Since then, he has played the character in a variety of television shows, video games and movies, including the recently released Batman: Arkham Asylum and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.
